Switzer Water is experiencing about a 63% water loss each month, which means that over half of our revenue is going towards paying for our patrons' usage to Clarington Water, where we buy our water from. This is too much loss. After research into some of the other local water companies throughout the Ohio Valley, Switzer Water has determined that many of these companies said their loss was due to having aged water meters. Many of our meters are now over 30 years old, and need replaced. The life expectancy of these meters is only 20 to 25 years, and then they begin to slow down. We are working diligently to not have to do a price increase, but it is not out of the realm of possibility. In the next few months, you may be contacted by Switzer Water to have your meter replaced. We will work with you to schedule a convenient work time. After your meter is replaced, your bill may show an increase because your meter will now be registering your true water usage.
