Below is a picture of a Switzer Water Meter. Beginning January, 2012, Switzer Water began reading meters by remote technology. We ask that if you have an outside meter pit, do not obstruct it by covering it or parking over it, which would prevent the reading of the meter from the road. Please do not tamper with any of the technological hardware or wires on the meter, which would also prevent the remote reading of the meter.
Keep in mind that you might be checking your meter on a date different from the one used for billing. Our Meter Reader usually reads the meters anywhere from the 18th of the month to the 23rd of the month. This could result in a difference in the amount you find, compared with the amount on which your bill is based. However, if your reading is considerably higher than what is on your bill, check for a leak or try to determine the source of large water use. If your reading is significantly lower than the reading on your bill, please contact us and let us assist you in determining the problem.
